Pike Market Child Care and Preschool supports each child’s
individual development while offering families information, encouragement and support. The program focuses on building and maintaining
high self-esteem, the development of proactive, non-violent social skills
and an appreciation for diversity.
PMCCP is proud to be accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, indicating that our program meets the highest standards of care and early learning for young children.
Health:
PMCCP collaborates with families and other agencies to support children
in being as healthy as they can be. This includes access to a Public Health
Nurse, a Nutritionist and yearly vision screenings. Early intervention of
potential health problems can be key in children’s social and academic
success.
Meal Program:
PMCCP provides a nutritious meal program, following USDA guidelines. Breakfast, lunch and two snacks
a day are designed to provide over
70% of each child's nutritional needs.
Early Indentification and Intervention of Special Needs:
Our staff
can refer famililes to the appropriate services and support them through the
engagement process if there are concerns about a child's development.
Family Support:
Pike Market Child Care and Preschool also supports the
family—93% or families report that being enrolled at PMCCP has positively
impacted their family’s ability to achieve their goals. We provide information and emotional support, as well as contact with other agencies to help families meet their immediate and on-going needs.
Emergency Support:
PMCCP assists families in meeting their emergent needs.
We are able to provide parents with emergency assistance in times
of unexpected need. Some past examples of this are funds for parenting
classes, financial assistance that prevented eviction when there was
a family crisis and tuition deferment plans.
