Children’s Learning

“The program and teachers work to help our children socially and emotionally, teaching respect, caring, and kindness towards others, and by making learning fun.”

At PMCCP, we believe that young children are capable and innately ready to take initiative to discover and absorb information, motivated by their own curiosity and desire to make meaning of their world.

Using Child-Centered Reflective Practice, teachers get to know each child, within their family and within the group, and then carefully plan and regularly revise the classroom environment, schedule, materials, and activities to best support children’s current interests. Because young children learn best through play, all aspects of the daily rhythm provide rich opportunities for growth and learning that support whole-child development, which include:

  • Identity and Culture

  • Building Relationships

  • Physical Development and the 5 Senses

  • Growing Up Healthy

  • Communicating

  • Learning About Our World (Reading/Writing, Math, Science, Social Studies, & the Arts)
