Who We Are

Since its establishment in 1982, Pike Market Child Care and Preschool (PMCCP) has been guided by the principle that every family deserves access to high-quality early learning, with a commitment to equity at the core of our mission in our urban Pike Market community. Here are some of our historical and recent accomplishments:

• Our nutritious meal program served 27,100 total meals in 2023.

• In 2023, we provided up to $203,480 in tuition assistance. Our program addresses the social determinants of health by providing economic stability to families through tuition and advocacy support, in a nurturing environment, that's safe and inclusive.

• At PMCCP, high-quality early learning translates to smaller class sizes, lower teacher-to-student ratios, a child-centered anti-bias curriculum, and equitable compensation, benefits, and professional development for our talented teachers.

• We follow the ten program standards set by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.

We are able to fulfill our mission by relying heavily upon the generous financial support of individuals, foundations, corporations, small businesses, and our neighbors. Community support, donations, and grants are what make this crucial work possible, and we are so grateful to continue to foster a vibrant community in the Market comprised of remarkable little humans and grown-ups!
